Why did you name your sock 'Imperfectly Perfect'?
We all have an idea of what is ‘perfect’, yet we all have different tastes, style, wants, needs, likes and desires. Perfectly Imperfect is about acceptance of diversity and difference, if we all accepted those differences then the world would be a much kinder place. We are all Perfectly Imperfect.
What was the inspiration behind the design?
I wanted to create a Perfectly Imperfect rainbow, the shapes are abstracted from various projects I’ve been working on recently; a coming together and journey of the last few months of my work
What/who brings you joy?
I sustained a brain injury in 2020, closely followed by a bereavement and depression diagnosis; they were a jolt to reassess my life, the choices I’d made and my future. As a result, being alive and fulfilled; being true & honest with myself and others brings me joy.
What was the last thing that made you nervous?
I took on a 10 mile hike last weekend, it’s the first time I have trekked for 30 years (ironically the same walk). The 2 mile ascent was steep and rocky and some of my toes hurt straight away; the idea of having to give up so early on and not complete the hike to the top made me nervous; however I ploughed on and made it to the peak without injury or stoping.
What was the last thing you did that made you proud?
Climbing to the top of that peak, walking for 6 miles and then clambering back down again. The views at the top, the company, sense of achievement and the large cup of tea and slice of cake at the end were my reward.
