"My proudest moment is making it to the top of Texas and taking my first solo road trip adventure!

I started planning this trip about six months prior. It was one of those trips I kept waiting for another person to be able to go on, and so I kept putting it off again and again. I finally decided that I would do it on my own and I am so happy and proud that I did.

I struggled a lot with fear; fear of being alone on the open road; fear of something happening and I couldn't handle it; fear that something would happen and no one would know. I tried to cancel the trip a few times, but signs would show that I needed to go. Luckily my friends checked up on me along the way and made sure I made contact with someone each day. I traveled about 2,000 miles (about 30 hours of driving) over the course of six days, so I had a lot of time to myself to think and reflect. 

I learned a lot about myself and what I'm capable of — I had breakthroughs in some areas of my life where I felt blocked, that I can handle things that may come up, and that I have a wonderful support system. In the end, I learned that I'll be ok no matter what happens." -Elizabeth
