As the founder of Pride Socks, I was raised by Deaf parents and within the culture. When my mom gained her wings in December of 2020, I knew I wanted to make a shirt to honor her, not only by hiring a Deaf designer to fully represent the culture, but also have proceeds of shirt sales go to Texas Hands and Voices, a nonprofit serving the Deaf. My mom always said kids come first and when we came across TXHV, I knew they were the one. They envision a world where children who are Deaf and Hard of Hearing have every opportunity to achieve their full potential.
My mom was nothing short of the most magical person you'd meet. She could walk into a room and her energy would turn heads. Her smile would melt people and her laugh was contagious.
Her love for her kids was endless which is why I added a collage of photos for you to see. At any moment, on any given night, there may be just the 5 of us, or an extra 7 friends, all sleeping on the living room floor. No matter who you were, if you asked for help, she was there. It didn't matter if you needed a ride, helped moving, babysitting, a dollar, or an extra meal, she was there. Her love had no boundaries.
